Molly Dingledine

"As a child I collected seashells, rocks, and seed pods while exploring outside. That fostered my curiosity for intricate natural forms which I am still enamored with today."

Molly still loves to study plants—how they grow and how each component connects to create a perfect structure. She builds upon the simple shapes of leaves and petals to create three-dimensional forms. The jewelry she designs is her interpretation of a natural form or merely the outcome of experimenting with different ways of assembling her handcrafted simple, organic shapes. Sometimes she sees the piece of jewelry in her mind’s eye and then determines the process to create it. Other times the finished piece comes to fruition from experimenting with various ways of forming, layering, and assembling the silver components.

Molly's jewelry is created with leaf, petal, and flower shapes that are cut from flat sheets of sterling silver, hammered, formed, and fabricated into pieces of jewelry. Surface textures are achieved by hammering or roller printing with paper or fabric.

Molly received a BFA in Metals and Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005.
