JacQueline Sanchez

"My goal is to create jewelry as playful as you are."

JacQueline Sanchez approaches her work as small sculpture; she manipulates line and geometric form to produce bold, expressive statements. Her newest line, "Forever Young," combines seemingly simple ideas with fine artistry to create jewelry as surprising as it is inspiring.

Says Sanchez: "I wanted to use a material that you normally wouldn't expect to see in jewelry. Plastic, silver, and diamonds are not generally associated with one another. Combining plastic with something of value—such as a diamond—is exciting. To make functional art and change the way people think about objects is intriguing."

The building blocks Sanchez uses offer far more complexity than it might first appear. Emotionally, these colorful shapes take us back in time, recalling memories from our childhood. And though their design may appear simple, each block is actually a well-engineered plaything that fosters creativity and imagination. Sanchez's use of these building blocks is yet another extension of the possibilities they present. This artist's work has been featured in galleries throughout the country. Her jewelry has made several appearances on the TBS shows "Movie and a Makeover" and "Dinner and a Movie," as well as Cartoon Network's "Cartoon Fridays." Sanchez has also appeared on the HGTV show "Crafters Coast to Coast," in which she demonstrated her photo-etching technique.
