The band itself tells a story — crafted to mimic a square twig plucked straight from the woodland floor, cast in sterling silver and deliberately oxidized to deepen every groove, every texture, every mark that makes it feel alive and real.

At its heart sits a mesmerizing boulder opal, nature's own masterpiece. Flashes of azure and verdant green dance across a rich chocolate-brown matrix like glimpses of sky through autumn branches. No two opals are ever the same — this stone holds patterns and colors that exist nowhere else in the world.

"My current body of work is a marriage of elegance and the unexpected. The contemporary movement of the metalwork is in sharp contrast to the primitive elements of rough stones and enamels."

Evolution would be the best word to describe how Laura works. Her background is in illustration and painting. She has explored ceramic sculpture and was known for many years for the figurative jewelry incorporating porcelain sculpture with metal work. Laura's progression into enamel work seemed inevitable. She is always looking for new ways to express herself through her art.

Laura uses traditional metalsmith techniques including manipulating metal with hammers, fire, cutting, and soldering. Her experimentations with enamel and her love for rough stones and found objects keep Laura's work fresh and surprising.

Laura is mostly self-taught, however she attends a variety of workshops to expand her artistic vocabulary.
