Megan Horan

"I have always had a great love of stones and, later in life, developed a love of beads. After realizing I could mesh these two loves into beautiful jewelry, I found I couldn't stop!"

Megan Horan is a primarily self-taught jewelry artist. After honing her bead weaving skills, she ventured into the world of bead embroidery. Stitching each tiny glass bead into the foundation allows her to almost paint with beads. Each stone used is unique and dictates the colors and movement of the finished piece.

Horan creates each piece in her shop by precisely stitching very small glass beads with a fine needle and thread. She starts with piles of tiny beads in a variety of colors and shapes and, through a variety of bead weaving and embroidery techniques, is able to create unique art to wear.

Horan is a primarily self-taught jewelry artist. She has developed her techniques over the years as available materials have expanded. She will occasionally take a class with a master bead artist for inspiration or technical development.
