Delphine Pontvieux
NYET Jewelry
Delphine Pontvieux is a designer who transforms unexpected materials into elegant, sculptural adornment. Through her brand, NYET Jewelry, she explores the deliberate contrast between industrial rubber and luminous pearls, gemstones, and metal. Her work embraces duality: bold, yet wearable, contemporary, yet timeless, and is guided by a belief that jewelry should empower the wearer through both comfort and expressive design. Each piece is handcrafted in Chicago and reflects Pontvieux’s signature approach: confident, innovative, and unafraid to challenge convention.
Pontvieux combines traditional jewelry-making methods with unconventional materials, most notably high-grade rubber. Using hand-cut components, custom hardware, and precision-set gemstones or pearls, she creates fluid structures that remain surprisingly lightweight while retaining sculptural presence. Many of her designs are modular or transformable, allowing the wearer to adapt the piece to different looks. Her technical process emphasizes durability, comfort, and artistry, resulting in jewelry that is as functional as it is visually compelling.
Originally trained in metalwork and leather craftsmanship, Pontvieux expanded her practice through years of self-directed experimentation with rubber, gemstones, and mixed media. Her background includes hands-on fabrication, design research, and collaborations within the fashion and fine-arts communities. Her innovative use of rubber in luxury jewelry earned her the Fashion Group International’s Creative Innovation Award in 2024, and her work has been featured in exhibitions, runway presentations, and national publications. She continues to refine her techniques in her Chicago studio, where every NYET piece is made by hand.
