Gough Arts
"I aim to capture an immersive experience in each painting that envelops the viewer in my work, my vision of the blooms, the secrets they have to share. I work in watercolors to gain the transparency of oils and vibrancy of acrylics and the beguiling nature of water; an attempt to control the uncontrollable. The combination is a viewing intimacy; my pieces are luscious, inviting, and vibrant."

Mary Lyn is an enthusiastic gardener, and Mother Nature is full of amazing textures, colors, shapes, and patterns. Mary Lyn has always been drawn especially to the complexities, beauty, and specificity of flowers. No two are alike, even from the same variety. They are her subject and inspiration.

Mary Lyn works in watercolors to gain the transparency of oils and vibrancy of acrylics and the beguiling nature of water in an attempt to control the uncontrollable. She works wet into wet, wet into dry, and dry brush. The painting are done on 400LB paper that give the unique deckled edge when float mounted.

Mary Lyn started her art career at the age of six when she won the local grocery store's coloring contest. She sold her first painting in 7th grade and has been producing and selling art ever since. She attended art school where she dedicated her creative expression to watercolors. Mary Lyn is currently in seven galleries in the northwest and does numerus shows and events during the year.
