Laura Kass

"Inspired by a love of nature in gardens and in art, a trip to the Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden initiated my jewelry-loving journey. The day I learned to make jewelry, I literally couldn't feel the ground under my feet. I had found my calling and lost myself in the joy of creating jewelry for art and design focused customers!"

Laura Kass jewelry brand was founded in 2015, and is best known for its creative, fine, and demi-fine pieces. Laura focuses on handcrafting jewelry from consciously-collected, sustainable fibers (silks), metals, gemstones, and pearls. She artfully uses these materials to create unique pieces for casual and formal wear. There is truly a story behind every piece! All work is designed and personally created in New York City. Collectors appreciate the brand's commitment to quality, integrity, and original designs.

Laura fabricates jewelry from a wide variety of component parts. The materials are often rare and hard to find. She strings, wire wraps, knits, and crochets jewelry, blending very fine, multi-colored thread to combine with recycled, precious metals, gems, and pearls.

Laura began as an avid knitter and accessories designer, who was taught and inspired by local professional knitwear designers. She transferred those skills to jewelry making, studying with talented jewelry designers in New York City. Laura has an academic background in the study of geology and foreign languages from Duke and Columbia Universities. She regularly enjoys attending jewelry conferences, trade shows, and networking events in the U.S. and France.
