This delicate bypass ring passes over your finger in a symbolic nod to you and your partner. Made from two sections of twig that have been joined together seamlessly, this ring symbolizes the union of two into one.

This ring was made by casting a real dogwood branch the artist collected herself. There is no trace of the original branch left in the ring, but it retains all of the original texturing and detail of the original.

At its widest points, the twig measures approximately 2mm. This is a solid 14k yellow gold ring. Available in whole and half sizes 5 - 8.

Sarah Hood has been making art in some form or other for most of her life, but she found her true passion in metal. Metal engaged her from the moment she picked up a torch, and the constant exchange between its tough resistance and surprising malleability ensures she keeps coming back for more.

Hood has come to see jewelry making as a way to explore her somewhat disparate interests in a very direct and inclusive way. Her enthusiasm for gardening, botany, literature, children's toys, Eastern philosophy, and travel all find their way into her designs. Often these subjects inspire tangents in her work that she finds compelling, and she finds the small scale of jewelry perfect for exploring a concept to the point of exhaustion. Collecting, organizing, studying, venerating, and obsessing are all part of her process. Sometimes, Hood says, the resulting pieces tell her more about what she values than she realized.

Beautiful, artistic ring!

This ring is artistic and unique. I am wearing it with my thin gold wedding band (that was my mother's) and it adds interest. Some reviews mentioned that it is thin. It is on the thinner side, but it is still substantial and graceful in its size. I am happy to have this artistic ring!

lovely design but....

Lovely but so small and delicate that it almost disappears on my finger/hand. I'm keeping it...I still like it. I do wish Artful Home would show rings on a hand so the size (the size of the artwork piece, not the ring size) would show more clearly.
