"With my Loops Series of jewelry I am exploring geometry and new materials. 3D printed nylon is a wonderful material for jewelry. It is flexible, durable and light-weight. It allows for big, bold designs that won't weigh you down."

Maria is driven by the desire to experiment with materials and processes. She is intrigued by the idea of wearable story and communication through jewelry. Her work also portrays a material obsession, using both traditional jewelry methods and newer technologies including 3D printing and laser cutting.

For this body of work, Maria is focused on new technologies. The jewelry is designed in a CAD program and made using a 3D printer. The pieces are then hand dyed in the artist's studio.

Maria studied jewelry and metals at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.

Can't get them into my ears

I thought the mechanism to attach them to my ears would open up and out. Instead it's a tiny pin and with my arthritic hands I just can't put them on! They're lovely but I can't use them -- sorry.

Very pretty and unusual but very hard to hook. Closure needs to be changed. I was unable to fasten one earring and gave up. I will not be wearing these. Unfortunate as they are quite expensive.

very cool idea

What fun to find these earrings that are very large, but almost weightless!I got black, and with my salt and pepper hair they look best when my hair is up. I am thinking of other colors, or other styles with the same materials.
