"I love working with molten glass. It is a responsive, captivating material that continually engages and challenges my creativity. In my work, I like to play with form, texture, color, and function. "

Wagner's passion for glass is unparalleled by anything else in her life. Committed to a lifelong exploration of this fascinating medium, Wagner is constantly creating new designs and loves the challenge of working with a 2000-degree material. When she's not working in glass, Wagner loves gardening and playing with her cat, Shiva.

Wagner and her team of glassblowers work together to create contemporary blown glass pieces. Whether creating functional or decorative work, her approach combines a commitment to quality with an emphasis on sophisticated color theory and patterning.

April Wagner received her BFA in glass from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit after spending a couple of years at Alfred University in New York. Pretty but...

This is a pretty paperweight but I am somewhat disappointed in its color and heft. The purple saturation is low and the glass feels thin/light (as if not a lot of glass was used). It is much lighter than the other pieces I have by the same artist. It almost feels like I received a test piece. I have ordered many glass pieces by this artist and they have all been lovely- this is the first time I was disappointed that the product did not seem to match the description/image online. I was planning to give it as a gift but I don't think I can.
The other pieces in the order (by the same artist) were very nice and as expected. Maybe I just got unlucky?
