"Glass is magic."

Having first discovered glass in high school, J. Shannon Floyd was immediately drawn to the material and the constant, evolving challenge it represents. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian and mid-century modern designs, she embraces timeless form language to create work that is simple yet elegant.

Floyd uses traditional glassblowing techniques that have been passed down through generations.

Floyd graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015 with a BFA in glass. Since graduating, she has traveled throughout the US working with a wide variety of glass artists. Currently, she lives and works in Boston, MA.
