Fascinated by the unlimited possibilities of lines and curves, artist Britt Anderson explores anticlastic forming to create his dynamic jewelry.
This refined pendant necklace was hammer raised and fabricated from two different gold finishes, creating contrast between the upper and lower crescent shapes. The lower crescent is polished 14k white gold, while the upper 'winged' crescent is satin-textured 14k white gold and features a 0.10ct diamond set in a platinum bezel. The show-stopping centerpiece is a 9.5mm white pearl, specially selected for its color and luster. The pendant hangs from a German-made silicone cord available in 17", 18" and 20" lengths.

Fascinated by the unlimited possibilities of lines and curves, Britt Anderson explores anticlastic forming to create his dynamic jewelry. Anderson forms each piece by drawing patterns onto flat sheets of gold and then hand hammering the metal until it becomes three-dimensional. The forming and finishing of each item is extremely labor intensive, making the creation of two sets of earrings in one day an accomplishment. Though complicated and demanding, anticlastic forming allows for exceptionally strong, lightweight, and visually appealing jewelry.

The artist uses only recycled, ecologically processed gold for all of his pieces.
