After seven years as a graphic designer, Susan Kinzig began a career as a jewelry designer. Fifteen years later, her knowledge of jewelry design and metalworking had grown extensively, and she decided to expand her creative outlook to include lighting design. Caryn Kinzig, Susan's sister-in-law, had spent 20 years in an investment career when she decided to leave the corporate world and follow her creative passion. Susan and Caryn teamed up to form Kinzig Design Home.
Susan and Caryn work together to create each of their lamps. They incorporate proprietary elements with vibrant glass (blown by two glass studios) and solid brass and copper accents. The lampshades are deeply colored and sewn from embroidered silks and rich fabrics. The lamps are individually finished with patinated metals and surface textures that will not fade or discolor, and are topped with distinctive finials.

Expected the glass work to be neater, more transparent specially the upper one.
I can't say enough how beautiful my lamp is. I had high hopes and it didn't disappoint. I've been wanting one of the Kinzig's lamps for the longest time and it was well worth the wait!
This floor lamp is absolutely beautiful!
I do hope the 60 watt bulbs that I ordered address the weak lighting afforded with the 40 watt included. That is a issue.
A beauty as a piece of art however.
The 40w bulbs that were included with the lamp are intended for ambient light. 60w bulbs will be better suited for tasks.
This lamp is beautiful and is going to be a center of delighted attention for us and for anyone who visits us. I didn't expect the lovely texture on the shade, although I did anticipate its delicate design. It's gorgeous, and I like knowing that two women, artists, cooperated to make it. I don't want to neglect the elegant base. Even before seeing the shade I loved the base. Congratulations to the artists for offering beauty to the world.
